A step-by-step process of a first-time hair extensions transformation at Kinetic Salon
The Consultation
This is by far the most important step in the whole extension process
It’s very important that we get to see your hair in person, in its natural state. This way we can determine a few very important things:
If you are a good candidate for hair extensions based on the length of your existing hair, health, and density. What method would be best for you based on the density of your hair. What colors we need to blend to give you your perfect match.
It’s also the perfect time for us to discuss maintenance, at home care, and of course, price.
This is the best time to get every single hair extension question you can think of out on the table.
If you decide hair extensions are right for you, then on to step 2!
Financial Planning
It is important to us that we help you understand the financial commitment of hair extensions so you can be fully prepared.
Before we are able to schedule your extension reservation, a deposit will be required.
We do this for two reasons: Firstly because we often need to order your hair for you before your hair reservation. Secondly, we will need to set aside a significant amount of time aside for your extension reservation and this time must be secured with a deposit.
We may also discuss the possibility of signing you up for our extension membership which can save you money, give you incredible perks and can be canceled at anytime.
Transformation Day!
When you arrive for your reservation we hope you are excited — it’s extension day!
Don’t worry about coming with clean hair — we will wash it and dry it for you to ensure we have a completely clean surface before starting. Your hair will also most likely be out and ready for you. At this point, your extension designer will go over any last minute questions you may have and recap what you discussed during your consultation.
Before we get started, we will likely ask for your permission to take a “before” photo.
We do this because it’s so fun for you to see the results side by side — and we love to share them to our social media pages. If you don’t feel comfortable taking photos that’s totally fine! It’s completely optional.
After your hair has been shampooed and blown out, we are ready for the next step!
Application
Before beginning your application we will show you your new extensions and confirm one last time that they are a colour match. Then we will give your hair a cleansing wash, condition and a smooth blowout..
Your extensions will be applied while paying special attention to your comfort and ensuring placement is discreet. You may have more than one team member taking care of you to ensure that your service is fast and efficient.
Blending
Once your extensions are in but are not yet blended, you might be wondering what you got yourself into. Your new hair extensions don’t look quite right. Don’t worry — we are just about to get to the most technical (and vital) step in making your extensions look like your own: the blending.
Our signature blending haircut will ensure that your new extensions blend seamlessly into your natural hair, with proper styling of course!
Styling
You may love your hair in a more natural state after your blending, but it’s also fun to try something new. Your extensionista will offer to do something a little extra special with your styling and teach you how to use a curling wand, flat iron, curling iron or hot rollers to style your new extensions while recommending the best products to take care of your extensions.
Aftercare & Adios
It’s time to say goodbye — but before we do, we have a few gifts for you!
As a thank you for trusting us with your extensions we want to send you home with a Bellami extension brush and $30 shopping pass to spend on the take-home products of your choice to care for your new extensions at home.
You will also get complimentary access to our “Extensionista in your Pocket” 15-video tutorials that will ensure you know how to take care of your hair at home every step of the way – from washing to styling and more!
The checkout process
Since you’ve already paid your deposit you will simply pay the remainder of your extension service and we will set up your next maintenance reservation. If you wish to sign up for an extension membership now is the time to help us get you all set up!
